A Second Chance

In Coloardo, CityUnite, is telling the story of faith and work intertwining. Chief Business Development Officer of Weifield Electrical, Karla Nugent says, “so often we see work is work and faith is faith, but really your faith is every hour of the day.”

This video tells the story of Weifield Electrical giving a second chance to convicted felons by hiring them and training them in a trade. The Governor of Colorado, John Hickenlooper encourages his city to think outside the box to impact their city like Weifield Electrical. He says, “If you are a decision maker, think outside the box. Look at new ways you hire people and I guarantee it will be one of the best things you ever do.”

CityUnite is seeking to do this by creating opportunities for the Church to partner with local businesses and the government to transform cities in Colorado. The partnership includes multiple sectors coming together to collaborate for the common good. Their model is shown here:
